So one of the on going issues I deal with is deciding what activities I'm going to spend my time on. There is so much I want to do. A TON of stuff that I would love partaking in regularly, with a certain rank of how much of each. The thing is, you can only do so many things without seriously affected how well you can do them. So obviously I love softball! That will always be my #1. But I like basketball, football and volleyball. Probably in that order. In addition, i've taken to rock climbing, but I don't nearly do that enough. I still have my bagpipes collecting dust. And then other assorted miscellaneous hobbies (play pool, volunteering, video games, and socializing)
So when it comes to sports, Softball I plan on playing every summer and fall. Basketball looks like a great option in the winter, aslong as I have a team to play on. That might be an issue. Volleyball I like or will probably play more because Ryan, Steve, Marie, Tom, and Erin all love volleyball. I don't share their passion as much, but I enjoy it. Although I know Steve won't really want to play with me because I suck and he doesn't play with sucky people, only against them. But it's fun, and a good break from softball. I think football has been relegated to the Turkey Bowl and maybe once over winter break. Rock climbing and other outdoor sports (kayaking, camping, hiking) are all something I am very interested in, but have neither invested the time or money in. They are expensive sports to do regularly, but the benefits are just so rewarding. Hopefully someday I will commit to that active lifestyle. I consider sports a big part of my life because I believe staying active is important to my health and happiness. Go endorphins! You can laugh at my spelling, i'm just guessing!
The others: The bagpipes have become a emergency instrument. I pull them out when someone asks me to play for a funeral. I build up my lung capacity just enough to squeak out Amazing Grace, and then back in the closet. That really is a shame, because I have had some great bagpipe teachers, and achieved a decent level of play. I just always had a problem memorizing music. So that is something I need to focus on improving.
Volunteering just doesn't happen and that's sad. After my ten months in Americorps I should be able to find places to volunteer and offer my services. but i haven't avidly searched. I am trying to do the AARP Tax-Aide again this year, but have yet to crack open the book as a refresher course. I hope that works out.
Playing pool is something I enjoy and want to get really good at. I love it! Hanging out with friends playing a competitive, but friendly game. If it's one sport I really, really want to play at a high level, it's pool. And that's kind of funny because it's the least physically demanding. Video games are great social vehicles, but I'll admit other than that, they are the biggest waste of time. There is some puzzle solving games that have greater benefit, but their are other ways to test your puzzle solving skills.
Ok, so on top of all of that here are some other things I feel I should do: Travel, Read more books, Exercise regularly, and do more new things.
So as you can see, I have much more on my plate than I can handle. Maybe if I quit my job and found a way to use advertising to fund myself I'd be able to partake in all of these activites. But until then, I'll have to pick out the ones I want to do the most, and squeeze the other ones in as I go along.

The New Year's Eve quandry
Christmas was good! I saw a ton of friends and family! I might be a little tuckered out with the family, but it happens sometimes. Pretty soon people will travel back to school, home, or where ever else they came from, and I'll be left all by my lonesome. Well, not really, but the people to hang out with will be reduced by roughly 73%. So we'll see how months January-May go. Stephen will even be leaving to go to school soon. He was my go to Applebee's guy. I might spend lonely nights at Applebee's pining for the good old days. I may make fun of Steve a lot, and get frustrated with him rather easily, but he's still my brother.
And now the problem:
How to make New Year's Eve fun?
I don't know if I ever really had a good New Year's Eve. Some of them have been all right. Borderline fun, but the expectations might be too high. Y2K New Year's Eve, was the worst. That was in a cement block warehouse in florida with a bunch of people we didn't know. I don't even know if I want to dignify one as the 'best'. I was looking to go somewhere, out of town somewhere, but I couldn't rally the troops, and I couldn't really organize it because of other things I had on my agenda.
First off, I don't even know what I want or what would constitute a good time. I would pick friends over family for this holiday. Or atleast more friends than family. Alcohol isn't really necessary, but the option would be nice. And entertainment! Lots of good entertainment. I don't even need to watch that ugly ass ball fall. Don't need to celebrate at midnight. Maybe give it a simple woot woot, and be done with it. So pretty much, I think a party without really celebrating the point of the holiday? (If you can actually refer to it as a holiday)
Come to think of it, maybe I have an inherent problem with the holiday itself. It just doesn' deserve to be a holiday. I love the time off from work, but really? Don't you think the time would be better served somewhere early spring to break up the monotony of January-May. With Thanksgiving and Christmas, I think the end of the year has enough holidays. Spread the wealth. After College, Spring break is over. That should be the case. I mean you might get Easter off from work and you get Memorial Day. But no holidays from Jan-April?? That is way too long going without a day of work.
Maybe I will never have a good time on New Years. That might mean I have to acknowledge it as an actual holiday. I still think it would be better to have a three day weekend in Late Feb.-Early March. But until that happens, I will continue on my quest to find a New Year's Eve that wil lprovide enjoyment.

One more sleep til Christmas!
WOW!
The Christmas party was awesome!! It was good to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. Good times with family and friends! That is what the holidays are all about! I met some more of Marie's cool friends. Got to see Willie T. and Willie W. V was in from Americorps and brought her friend Jenny. The only ingredient that was missing was Ryjo. Megan even made it after getting her wisdom teeth removed the day before!
Funny story:
We were waiting for steve to come cause they went to pick him up from work. And there was a knock at the door. I was sitting on the couch by the door so I just opened so they could come in. No one came in, so I was like "Steve stop being overdramatic!" And he still didn't come in. SO i looked out the door, and there were two cops standing there. So i got up pretty quick. They asked who lives here, and I came out cause Tom was in no condition to talk to the po-po. So we chatted about being too loud. The neighbors called on us. They were very cool about it! First good experience with cops.
The party continued with a lot of hushing going on, but I thikn we werne't that bad. The walls here are just paper thin.
This weekend should be really good! Midnight Mass is about the only time I actually enjoy church. And then we hang out afterwards! See all the family! I'll get to hang out with Tatianna! I've been waiting to see here since we hung out in Spokane! I have Monday and Tuesday off from work! 3 day week, then a 2 day weekend for New Years! I love getting holidays off!
I will write a lot over the holiday season!
Happy Birthday to Erin Loughlin and Kate Matthews!
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

I have a desire to write
Although I don't do it often, i like writing in my blog. I don't want to bore you with minute details of my life, just keep you updated on the fun I've had, my random thoughts and what not. I'm here to entertain. Well, not really, but I do aim to keep things fresh, my adoring audience of 3.
I should be in bed now, but i am not. I just saw The Family Stone. It is a wonderful movie! I went in thinking it was going to be girly and emotional, and although it was emotional, it was not girly in anyway. THe movie was funny at times, but keep it's somber tone well. I enjoyed it a lot, and would recommend it to anyone. They do a good job connecting you with thte family, I think that's what I enjoyed most, it reminded me of my crazy family.
Work is interesting to say thel east. I am completely on my own while my trainer is on vacation for the rest of the year. I've handled myself well, even in the face of adversity (i spilled some paint all over the machine) My boss is really cool, I found out he must own over 2,000 cds. Big music buff, he knows a lot of shit about music. So, I've been borrowing some the cds he has in stock. Right now I'm doing classic blues and some jazz. He has introduced to some of his favorite artists. It's nice music to work too, so I'll probably stay on this kick for a while. Maybe progress through the cds by decade.
SO at work, it can be pretty mindless, so i have to entertain myself. I come up with crazy things sometimes. I think about the christmas party, or what to get people for presents, new years, and what not. But my favorite subject is what I'd do if I won the lottery! That is a great topic! And it can go anywhere! Where ever your mind takes you. I'm always looking for new stuff to think about. I think it would be good when I go back to school, because I'll be able to reason out problems while I work! Let's hope.
Christmas Party if going to be HUGE! I am excited!! I hope we don't keep the neighbors awake!
off to bed! i don't sleep enough!

So much more to say
A wonderful AmeriWeekend! I had the pleasure of entertaining Erin, Matt, Simone, and Becca in Cleveland. Erin, Matt and Simone all arrived friday evening. WE spent that evening catching up. Hung out at the apartment watching bad television. We had dinner at Arturo's. Nothing fancy but pretty solid food. Steve, Morgan, Erin Barrett, and Brian Dee joined us. AFterwards we went home and did some more bumming around. After Friday night, Matt and Erin told me how much my brother and I are alike. I never like hearing that.
WE had breakfast at the City Diner, used to be the Gold Coast Cafe. It seems a LOT better. Probably the new late night hang out. I'd like to go there everytime I'm drunk hungry. WE drove around Cleveland. UNiversity Circle, LIttle Italy, the shoreway, downtown, and the flats. It was pretty good sightseeing, but we didn't really do anything. WE tried to go to the art museum, but it was closed. And will be for the next 5 YEARS! What is that? Major renovations are going on. I'm looking into it. The model of what they were doing made it look like it'll be amazing. Let's Hope!
After that we picked Becca up at athe airport around 5pm. And headed to the best pizza place in the state! Angelo's. There is really no comparison. I felt everyone was impressed, and I always enjoy it. Then we hit up Alex's party. Which involved some boozin' and seeing friends. Saw some people I hadn't seen in a while. Michelle Miele and Casey Somegirl. I don't remember her last name. Caught up with Michelle. Tried talking to Sara Mayer, but I think she was incredibly uninterested in our conversation and left shortly after I Started talking to her. I blame myself. WE played my new favorite drinking game!
Quarters!
It was so much fun. UNfortunately for me, I was sponsoring Simone so she could play. and she sucked! She much of lost 6 times in a row. I didn't lose so much. It was mainly her fault I was drinking. We played for hours, and it was very exciting. We did loser gets eliminated. the back to the city diner for drunk food.
Tom and Steve were both acting out of control, especially with each other. I had to referee to keep them from fighting.
After sleeping til noon, we sent matt and erin on their way back to the east coast. Becca, Simone, Tom, Terry and I went to cravings for coffee/hot chocolate. Then Terry went on his way after we dropped him off at his car. Then we did the same tour for Becca, slightly edited for content. Just went quicker cause I actually had a better idea where I was going. WEnt to the WesternReserve Historical Society, walked around in the free areas anh headed home. I made tacos for dinner, we ate with Erin and Nora. That was delicious! Then we caught the end of the Wizard of Oz.
I went to bed early in anticipation for work. Unfortunately for Becca and Simone, Tom watched tv until 2 or 3 am and didn't let them get to sleep. Tom and his messed up sleep schedule. I felt bad!
So it was an awesome weekend.
I am looking forward to my christmas party! UNfortunately I found out Tom has a prior engagement and he will not be attending. So now, I am on my own with this thing. It'll be fun, I just have to make sure i get all the preparations ready. I hope to see you all there!
I'll write again soon!

Weekend Update with Mike McGuire
I always wanted to be Norm McDonald. Well........ not specifically Norm, but if I were on SNL I would dominate on the Weekend Update! I did hate Colin though, he sucked.
This just in: The Stiff have won their first Rec basketball game to go to 1-8. And yet they are 4 point favorites over the Knicks.
It was good to get the first victory! Even though we nearly blew an 18 point lead. yikes!
Played about 8 hours of volleyball (inlcuding breaks and what not) That was kind of fun, but I'm not very good, and when Stephen is around I don't like sucking at volleyball. He definitely adds to the stress levels. He is SUPER-cometitive. I would say I played better after he left to go to work. We didn't win a game, but it was for charity Toys for Tots, and playing vball with Kate, Erin, Tom, and Janet was lot sof fun. And once I get better, I'll probably enjoy playing with Stephen.
Dinner was at our place for a change. The four of us sat around our coffee table and had fish sandwiches and peroghis. Simple, but perfect. It was a nice relaxing feel, keeps it from getting too formal. And hopefully it'll work out that we get to do it next week, but there are some questions right now.
Christmas Party December 23rd 8pm at the 506. Any ideas or suggestions, let me know! it's going to be huge!
I want to ramble about softball but I won't!
Here come the holidays!! I'm fully caught up with the Christmas spirit. My apartment christmas tree is always on, and I play Christmas music about 57% of the time. It just makes me happy, all the memories and excitement for the season. It'll be good!
Until Next Time!

My Work History
Here's a neat little post to let you guys know my skills and abilities. In case you were wonderin'
I was a Lemonade Tycoon! Just kidding, but i think you didn't have a real childhood without running atleast one lemonade stand. Fortunately for me, that was the end of my entreprenual experiences.
First real job: Sun Newspapers Paper boy
This was a rough one. Every wednesday I'd wait for my papers and then roll em and deliver em. Sometimes I would fall asleep first and my dad would have to wake me up, and I was cranky. My dad was really good about going with me because I was so young. This money funded many a lego. Stephen eventually inherited this position from me.
Caddy:
Westwood Country Club trained and raised. THe golf course is where I spent most of my days, Chillin' out, maxing, relaxing a cool, playing some bball outside the first green. When a couple of guys who were up for a round started calling names in the caddie yard.
That's enough of that! Walking 4 miles a day with a 40 lbs bag on in the gruelign summer sun. Needless to say, I was in the best shape of my life. And it was good money! I did get hit by a golf ball once! I'll tell that story later.
CPA assistant
Good od Mr. Bueflow! Me and Marie did data entry for this crazy guy and his crazy secretary! It was tedious boring work, but also cash money
Taco Bell:
The longest of all my jobs, I still work there sometimes! Started junior year of high school. Many a good memory, and my boss was one of the greatest of all time!
I was made a manager when I was 18. Happy Birthday MIKE!
and Sandy has worked around my schedule a lot through high shcool and college. It was best when Ryan was there with me.
Lowry Food Service:
Lack of better options...
working dining services, cleaning and what not. I was a bad employee here. I was always trying to get out of work. It just plain sucked
User Services: Tech Support
This was my favorite job work wise. I enjoy working with computers, even though I knew squat, Flinty and Smack helped me get this job. My boss, Kathy, was awesome! She was really nice, and she always teased me about not talking much. But we had a good relationship. I was sad to go when I left wooster! Many a night with Deval eating pizza in the computer lab, and not receiving any computer phone calls.
Cleveland Browns Security:
THis is the best job. Pretty much paid witness! The work is easy, you get to eat the same food the players and coaches do. All you have to di is stay alert! During training camp, it wasn't as much fun, but a small price to pay.
File Clerk: Cuyahoga County Jail
This was insane!! Long elevator rides with 7 inmates and 1 C/O. SCARY!!!!!!!! Luckily I made it out still a virgin! THe ladies I worked with were crazy but so much fun. And being a young chap, they hit on me a lot, that was embarassing at times! But It was awesome pay and helped me save money for greece.
Scrap Yard!
Shit hole! Sorting through an endless pile of aluminum cans trying to get them "clean" so that we can make bricks of them so they can sell. The bosses were mean, not understanding, and the work just plain sucked. I would come home everyday covered in a combination of whatever was in the cans. Seriously, wading waist deep in cans. The only good i got out of this was bonding with Morgan over my brother Steve. Haa haa! Stay tuned for my brother's life story.
PPG
I spray paint, this is too new to go into much more.
That's all folks! I hope it's as fun as I wanted it to be!

I hate "i hate"
it's recently been brought to my attention that I say "I hate x" a lot, where x is any word, noun, verb, adjective, adverb, all right you get the picture
"i hate swimmingly"
bad example
But I say I hate people a lot. And it doesn't occur to me what I'm saying cause I do it out of instinct or conditioning, or habit. I just never thought of it as that serious of a word. But the first time I said I hate you to thomas he was shocked. Cause hate is not an everyday word. And I just don't know why I take it so lightly. Maybe it's because I have every really felt hate and understand it. Maybe it's just because I am ignorant. Or also just the lack of value I put on words. I consider myself a man of my word, but i also think talk is cheap.
I have definitely tried to cut back on the use of the word. But it's also weird saying "I strongly dislike bad drivers!" I feel like I should be living in Britain, the land of no emotion! And if you are British and take offense to that please call and complain because I love British accents. Or Irish accents, or just about any accents. Having some foreign girl grinding up on me, speaking in a language I don't even know, sweating all over me!
sorry, i'll leave the fantasies out of it
So I don't really have a conclusion, just pointing out I don't know what I'm saying half the time
